Executive Director

Art For Action is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization devoted to making a lasting impact through artistic expression. To accomplish our goals, we have established a collaborative community of talented, service-driven individuals who utilize their artistic abilities to benefit society. Through the sale of artwork, corporate sponsorships, and generous donor contributions, Art For Action leads direct programs and supports charitable initiatives in the fields of cancer research & patient care, childhood education, global health, and more.

Art For Action is seeking to add an Executive Director to our team to accelerate organizational growth and maximize our impact.

The Executive Director will be responsible for overseeing the administration, programs, and strategic plan of the organization. Other key duties include fundraising, marketing, and community outreach. The position reports directly to the Board of Directors.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for planning, organization, and direction of the organization’s operations and programs

  • Provides leadership to and manages the efforts of volunteer staff to ensure appropriate support of all departments

  • Develops and implements consistent accounting policies, organizational procedures, and operational reporting / metrics

  • Oversees and reports on the organization’s results to the Board of Directors

  • Coordinates and leads annual budget processes, monthly and quarterly reviews, and periodic forecast updates with other senior leaders

  • Heads recruiting efforts and retains a highly qualified staff of volunteers; establishes adequate employment and administrative policies and procedures for all functions and day-to-day operations

  • Ensures that services and funding relationships are robust enough to meet or exceed strategic goals and objectives

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business, Corporate Management, or a related field preferred

  • 5+ years of related work experience leading nonprofit organizations and/or serving on a nonprofit board

  • High level strategic thinking and planning; ability to envision and convey the organization’s strategic future to the staff, board, volunteers and donors

  • Strong leadership, management, and organizational skills

  • Fundraising expertise in the areas of (i) individual donations; (ii) grants; and (iii) corporations sponsorships / partnerships

  • Independent thinker with a desire to implement their own strategies and execute on a vision for the organization
